- Any talk of masculinity is frowned upon as being archic, near-sighted, and too traditional.
- Our current culture seems bent on feminizing men (stripping them of their uniqueness, strength, and manliness).

My goal is to simply help men (and their wives) understand HOW to help men become more vulnerable and open. It is not to divide us further.
I have strong feelings and beliefs about where we are as a culture, and it’s implications on manhood. But this article is designed to take up that argument. In fact, I don’t want it to be an argument at all. Rather a starting point to help men open up so their wives can see their true heart.
One more thing before we dig into this topic; I am not suggesting or incuating men become feminized. We have enough of that in society and culture.
I believe God made men and women different for a reason. We both have important roles to play in God’s grand design. So nothing I say in this article should be taken as stripping men of their dignity as men or their masculinity.
On the contrary, men should be men. Sure, we need to define what that means; and there is no better place to start in my opinion than scripture – God’s purpose, position, and provision for men. The vast majority of psychologist (and most reputable research) all suggest that men and women are wired differently and uniquely.
I want to drive this home because it’s easy to blurr the lines. Society is conflicted about this issue, and it is a cultural and political hot potato issue. I stand on the side that men and women were created and wired uniquely. This makes us different. Not better, or worse. Just different.
