Praying For Your Husband’s Walk With God
Father, I thank you for my husband. I pray that you would fill him with all wisdom and spiritual understanding. That He may walk worthy of You Lord, fully pleasing you.
That He may be fruitful in every work and increasing in the knowledge of who you are in His life.
I pray you would keep his eyes focused on you and give him the wisdom to seek you first as he starts his day.
I pray His walk with you would be strong and his heart tender and pliable in your hands.
Keep pride far from his heart and let humility guide him through His day.

6 Reasons Why You Need To Pray For Your husband
I believe it is important to understand why prayer for your husband is so important. Here are six reasons you should make it a habit to pray for him.
1. It encourages him
Your husband’s heart is lifted up with encouragement when you are praying for him. Although He can’t see the encouragement, he benefits greatly through your prayers.
He can sense the peace of God in His life as He goes through His day. Grace is upon him and His heart is prepared by The Holy Spirit to fulfill God’s plan for the day.
2. It releases God to work in His life
Scripture says that we have not because we ask not. Release God into your husband’s life by fervently praying and releasing God’s word over him.
Will His heart be the place where God begins to do a new thing within him? The Lord hears your voice and petitions for Him.
The kingdom of God is released into their lives as we stand in the gap for our husbands. Share on XIn fact, He waits to hear our prayers for them. The kingdom of God is released into their lives as we stand in the gap for our husbands.
3. It makes Him feel loved
Just like you feel loved when He is sensitive and listens to you. Your husband feels loved when you go to the Father on His behalf. To pray for him is to love him.
To speak more to The Father about your husband than to your husband about The Father.
This will go much further than you pleading with Him about things that God would like to reveal to him first.
We desire for our husbands to read the bible more or for him to be more spiritual, which can sound like one more list of tasks for them on top of their work.
They’re not being insensitive, sometimes just overwhelmed with work. It changes everything when The Lord mentions it to them.

It comes from the inside, from stillness, out of love from God, not from a list of requests from us.
No greater love than someone who would lay their life down for a friend.
The epitome of love is to lay our words before the Father on behalf of another person.
To pray God’s best for them. To stand at the crossroads of where they are struggling and to release God’s words and promises over them.
For them to know the love of God that surpasses all understanding. This is love poured out being released through prayers over their life.

4. It protects Him from the enemy
We wrestle not against flesh and blood but scripture says against spiritual wickedness in high places.
We, as believers, have an adversary.
He wants to defy and demolish everything God is doing in our lives but we don’t have to be passive spiritually. Greater is He in our lives than He who is in the world.
Fight on your knees. Remember who you are and the authority God has given you as His child. Share on XFight on your knees. Remember who you are and the authority God has given you as His child.
You have been given God’s word as a weapon. You have a shield of faith that extinguishes every fiery dart of the enemy launched against your husband.
We don’t have to watch our husband get set up by the enemy. Wage effective warfare.
How? Prayer. Powerful, purposeful, effective prayer on behalf of your husband’s destiny.
Through prayer you can remove the target the enemy has on your husband’s back.

Your husband will be able to think clearer, see further and be more effective in every thing He sets His hand too because you prayed for him and God heard and answered.
His heart will be at rest and free from turmoil as you intercede for God’s will to be revealed to him.
5. It opens his spiritual eyes to see God working in His life
The Bible shows how the Apostle Paul had a blinding encounter on the road to Damascus.
Scripture says He was kicking against the goads when He had this encounter. This encounter was so powerful that Saul’s name was changed to Paul after this encounter.
It literally brought a radical transformation to His life.
Up to this point Saul had been doing what He thought was right, except it was completely wrong. Wreaking havoc on everyone.
After God got a hold of His heart things changed drastically. Deep remorse happens when God reveals things in our hearts that he and only he can change.
The scales fell from Saul’s eyes and He saw his whole life differently. When God shows us our own hearts, things change. You can’t unsee what you saw.
Purpose stares you in the face and you know that you must fulfill God’s will whatever that might look like. After this encounter, Paul wrote two-thirds of the New Testament.
The radical encounter transformed him and produced something greater than anyone could have dared to imagine.
He didn’t even look like the same person. When God gets a hold of you, you won’t look the same, talk the same or act the same.
Only God can do that in someone.
When we pray for our husband his spiritual eyes are opened. He begins to see from God’s perspective. God shows him what to do. Maybe it’s a strong impression. Maybe it’s a scripture but He has a “knowing’.
The Holy Spirit guides him into truth. What was once Information turns to revelation as you pray for him. Spiritual enlightenment happens by The Holy Spirit.

It helps Him to be effective in whatever it is He is doing
Nobody wants to walk aimlessly. Your husband wants to aim for the bullseye. When you pray for him, God opens His eyes to the things He should be pursuing.
6. Your prayers help provide clear direction for him.
He is able to be more effective at work because of your prayers. They are clarifying where and to what He should give His attention.
This will give him a strong sense that what He is doing is God’s will because there is purpose, direction, clarity, and peace as He walks.
Now there is fruit that he is able to see because it is what God has led him to do. He’s being led by the spirit instead of haphazardly feeling his way around trying to find the right door to walk through.
His friendships are getting fine-tuned because He is selective about who He surrounds himself with. He chooses to be around Godly men who support one another.
As iron sharpens one man so one man sharpens another.
He cherishes time with His family because He has had a revelation that they are a gift from God. He realizes His influence with His kids shapes their hearts for the future.
He is effective and strong as a Father because the Father’s love has been imprinted on His own heart now He transfers that to HIs children and to you as His wife.
Keys To Effective Prayer
The key to effective prayer is to pray the word. Why do we do this? This is coming into agreement with God’s perfect will.
Hebrews says God’s word is alive and active, sharper than a two-edged sword able to divide soul and spirit.
The book of Matthew teaches us something about prayer.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and He who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened.
Matthew 7:7-8
Ask, seek, knock. The progressiveness of prayer spurs us on to be diligent, persistent.
We don’t serve a God who withholds His will from us or His answers when we are seeking.

It may feel at times like He is hiding, but I’m not so sure. He wants to see who is diligently seeking, because to those who are, they will find him.
We quit too soon, give up too easily. Like a diamond in the coal, a needle in the haystack his promise to you are Yes and amen!
“Ask” often comes from the surface part of our lives, oftentimes it can be our emotions or something troubling our hearts, nothing wrong with this. This is the petition and request we offer up in prayer. For God to meet our needs. For our cries to reach his ears.
But, when you are “seeking”, you are intent and determined to find what God has for you.
Diligence is kicking in as you pursue God on behalf of what you need from God. You keep asking with fervency.
There is a zeal that is driving you to take hold of what you are believing God for. You overcome the spiritual obstacles the enemy throws out during this phase of prayer.
When you get to the final element in this place of prayer you are” knocking” you stand at the door knowing, on the other side of your tapping is exactly what God has promised you.
It’s been wrapped in your asking, your diligence in seeking and now, God is standing at the door with the answer to your prayers you’ve prayed over your husband.
Is it easy? Many times, absolutely not. But you didn’t quit, you kept believing in the face of resistance and adversity.
Let’s see how John puts it:
And this is the confidence we have, When we ask anything according to His will he hears us and if we know that He hears us then we know we have the petitions that we have asked of him.
1 John 5:14
When we ask in alignment with scripture we can have confidence and come boldly before God to ask hIm to fulfill His word we are praying.
God does not withhold something from us. He is holding something for us. A key. Share on XGod does not withhold something from us. He is holding something for us. A key.
The key is prayer to unlock everything God wants to do in their lives through prayer and intercession.
A prayer for my husband is the most honoring thing I can do for him. To see God open up the kingdom by revealing His great love for him.
